If you're Moving to Oakland from San Francisco, just remember that the nightlife in Oakland can be a little more dangerous than San Francisco so always stay cautious, and be safe.

Crime

Contrary to Popular belief, the entire city of Oakland is Not "The Hood". If you currently live in San Francisco, and rarely visit Oakland, it's easy to stereotype the entire City based on News reports and horror stories you've heard over the years. There are Several High Crime areas in Oakland, which is where Oakland gets its bad reputation from, but in all actuality Oakland has some very safe neighborhoods, so choose wisely.

Oakland has really great Weather year round. If you live in San Francisco you might think that the City has the best weather, it's never too hot, cool but never too cold, just right it would seem. But Oakland also has those Mild neutral climates, the only difference is that Oakland tends to be much warmer and sunnier, which plays a big role on mental health. It can be beneficial for business, productivity, and convenience, but usually not good for your mental health. Oakland is literally in the center of the SF Bay Area. One of the Best things about Oakland is It's proximity to San Francisco. You can get to SF from Downtown Oakland in as little as 20min. Oakland has some amazing neighboring cities like Berkeley and Alameda, but is still very accessible to Walnut Creek, El Cerrito, Hayward, Fremont, etc.

One really great thing about San Francisco is the fact that everything is so condensed, there's almost no reason the leave the city for things like Work, Shopping, Restaurants, Schools, etc. Although Oakland is the most established city in the East Bay, Everything is still very much spread out, with the exception of Downtown Oakland.
